FLEA MARKET PHOTOS
In the 1920’s, us women were set to a standard. There was a certain way society had perceived us, and wanted us to be. Skin and bones, pretty, good hair, good teeth, rich, good jobs. But mostly skinny and pretty. You couldn’t even get the job you wanted too, or go on dates, or really be taken seriously at all if you werent the way they wanted you to be. Me and my best friend were at the gym almost everyday, to try and prepare to get into the college we both wanted to go to. This was the reality of it; get fit and be pretty: or don’t get into the college you want. We eventually got two wooden treadmills for my house, so she came over almost everyday and ran for about an hour with me.
